Yesterday, on Dave Winer’s blog, I saw that he posted a Podcast of his talk from the Public Media conference, last week. I listened to it on my commute home last night and I found it truly inspiring. The discussion ranged from how our media system is broken and how we can fix it, to the U.S. Presidential elections in 2008 and specific comments on NPR’s current use of podcasting.
I was especially interested in the media discussion. For a long time, I’ve felt that the media system in this country is incredibly corrupt and broken and I found great hope in podcasting and blogging as mechanisms for more civil discussion and public participation regarding the big issues and problems we face today.
If you haven’t listened to the podcast yet, do yourself a favor and subscribe to the feed and spend the hour or so to listen in. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
